Who I am

The website address is: https://wiltshirewalks.com. If you require more information please use the contact page.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires me to publish a Privacy Notice with information about the personal data I hold. I retain the names of all people who have contacted the site about its content. This includes the email address of each correspondent, and in a few cases their home address and telephone number if it has been shared. This is a free-to-use website and I  do not hold any bank details whatsoever. The records are held in a list on the personal computer of the website owner (me). The records are not shared with others. The computer is password protected and appropriate security backup copies are maintained. You have the right to request a copy of any information I hold, to request amendment if the information is incorrect, and to request deletion. To do this, just use the contact page information and email link.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Media

Visitors to the website can download and extract images on the website. Every attempt has been made to obtain permission to reproduce copyright material. If any inadvertent error or incorrect acknowledgment has been made, I invite copyright holders to inform me of the mistake for the email link on the contact page.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited that other website.

According to common internet practice, these linked websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long I retain data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically, instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
